Dr. Meg Iyer
Founder, Beyond Admission College Consulting
EdD, MPA, EdD, NCSP
My career has centered on helping students navigate important educational transitions. I began as a teacher and spent 15 years working as a school psychologist, which included supporting students with academic, social-emotional, executive-function, and postsecondary planning needs. I have also served as a transition specialist, university instructor, and higher education administrator. These roles have given me the opportunity to see the transition to college from both sides: what students need to prepare in high school and what is expected of them once they arrive on campus.
My academic background includes an undergraduate degree from Brown University, graduate training in education, public policy and school psychology, and a doctorate in educational leadership. I am also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and have completed principal certification.
I also understand the admissions process as a parent. I have navigated college planning, applications, decision-making, and the transition to college with my own children, including admissions experiences at Harvard University and the University of Southern California. That perspective has reinforced for me how valuable it is for students to have a knowledgeable adult outside the parent-child dynamic who can provide structure, perspective, accountability, and support.
I created Beyond Admission College Consulting because I wanted to bring these experiences together in one place. My goal is to help students approach college planning thoughtfully and strategically while developing the independence, self-awareness, and decision-making skills they will continue to use long after applications are submitted.
For students with executive-function challenges, anxiety, learning differences, or neurodivergent profiles, I also bring extensive experience in accommodations, self-advocacy, transition readiness, and identifying the level of support a student may need in college.
